The 4th ranked Bulldogs will hit the home mats for the first time Wednesday night with their home opener against Wayne Memorial and Dundee.

The home opening quad meet will also be BHS Wrestling Alumni night, where all former Brighton Wrestlers are invited to come back and watch the 2015-16 Dogs battle.

Action will begin with Brighton vs Wayne Memorial at 5:30pm, followed by a short intermission around 6:30 or the Alumni Night presentations.

“This is one of my favorite events each year,” said Coach Tony Greathouse, “We talk about tradition and representing the program all the time, so it is nice for them to see the tradition first hand when the alumni come back.”

Then, the Dogs will take on the #1 ranked team in Division 3, Dundee Vikings.  Dundee and Brighton have met each of the past two seasons, splitting their matches.  Dundee won 38-21 in 13-14 and the Dogs came away with a hard fought 38-22 win last year.

This year’s matchup is sure to be just as exciting with a total of 13 wrestlers combined from Dundee or Brighton who are ranked in the state in MichiganGrappler.com’s pre-season rankings.

“Dundee has been one of the top programs in the state for decades and they bring a great fan base and a tough team that creates a top notch wrestling environment for our guys to compete in,” said Greathouse.
